Anderson Strathern reappointed as advisor to The Crown Estate

After a competitive tender process, Anderson Strathern has once again been retained to advise the Crown Estate in Scotland.

The firm’s chairman Robert Carr will continue to act as solicitor for The Crown Estate – a property portfolio owned by the Crown. It currently includes five rural estates, mineral and salmon fishing rights, approximately half the foreshore ans almost all of the seabed.

The estate is a longstanding client of Anderson Strathern, with a relationship dating back to the 1970s.

Carr commented: “For many years we’ve evolved just as they have evolved. We very much share their values of commercialism, integrity and stewardship, and we have a common commitment to sustainability at the heart of everything we do.”

Vivienne King, The Crown Estate’s General Counsel, said: “After a competitive tender process, Anderson Strathern emerged as the best candidate to provide legal support for our business in Scotland. Having worked with them before, we are confident that they share the values that underpin our work in Scotland and we look forward to working with them again going forward.”
