Mayer Brown saw its average profit per equity partner (PEP) figure climb 8 per cent in 2015 to nearly $1.6m (£1.13m).

The firm saw PEP rise by 7.6 per cent worldwide from $1.45m to $1.56m, while revenue went up by 2.8 per cent from $1.22bn to $1.26bn (£890m).

The results also led to a 1.2 per cent jump in revenue per lawyer from $824,000 to $835,000.

The rise in revenue and PEP last year follows a double-digit increase in PEP over 2014 and a 7 per cent jump in revenue.

In London, two lawyers made it to partnership in the firm’s 27-strong promotions round, while Reed Smith private equity head Perry Yam also joined earlier this year to strengthen the City practice.

Meanwhile, an alliance was announced with Chinese firm Jingtian & Gongcheng, with two senior corporate partners hired for its Paris office.
