Schoenherr promotes EU and competition specialist Stefanie Stegbauer to counsel

Stefanie Stegbauer has been promoted to counsel at Schoenherr as of the start of February 2014. Stegbauer specialises in Austrian and European competition law and represents clients in antitrust and Phase 1 and Phase 2 merger control proceedings before both the Austrian Competition Authority and the country’s Cartel Court, as well as before the European Commission and the European Court of Justice.

Stegbauer is also active in implementing and supervising antitrust compliance programmes, a role that also leads her to regularly make presentations and organise seminars on the subject.

A focus of her specialisation lies in conducting compliance training within the framework of ‘mock dawn raids’ and in the sphere of IT forensic audits. Stegbauer is particularly experienced in advising clients in the energy, paper, household appliances and food retail sectors.

On finishing her studies of law at the University of Vienna with a Mag. iur degree in 2004, Stegbauer practiced competition law at another Austrian law firm before joining Schoenherr in 2008. She has been admitted to the Austrian bar since 2011.

Stegbauer is the author of numerous articles on Austrian and European competition law.
