FFW makes six up to partner in static promotions round

Field Fisher Waterhouse (FFW) made up six lawyers to partner, with four of the promotions coming in its London headquarters.

The new partners in London are medical negligence and personal injury lawyer Mark Bowman, technology and outsourcing lawyer Lisa Comber, IT and technology specialist Beatriz San Martin and corporate and finance lawyer Nodir Sidikov.

Meanwhile, IP and technology senior associates Hakim Haouideg and Cord Willhoeft join the partnership in Brussels and Munich respectively.

The sextet are all currently senior associates except for Comber, a director.

All six become partners on 1 May, bringing the firm’s partner headcount to 154. In terms of the overall number of new partners made up, the promotions round is static compared with last year, when the firm added five partners in London and one in Brussels (25 April 2012). In 2011 it added nine across the London, Brussels and Paris bases.

FFW managing partner Michael Chissick said in a statement: “This is the third consecutive year where we’ve promoted six or more talented lawyers to the partnership. This clearly demonstrates our commitment to not only recruit lateral hires but also grow the firm organically and promoting from within.

Field Fisher Waterhouse has a young partnership with a completely new generation of partners leading the firm now and so we’re very excited to be welcoming these exceptional lawyers to the partnership. I wish them every success in their future careers.”

The news comes after national firm Shoosmiths today announced six partner promotions across five offices (28 March 2013).
