In early May 2014, three Chambers directors and 15 Outer Temple barristers, including six QCs, visited Dubai to strengthen and reaffirm their commitment to working in the region.
The visit culminated in a reception on 7 May at the Capital Club with around 70 guests including judges of the DIFC, local and international lawyers, regulators and government dignitaries and heads of business from across the Middle East and North Africa.
Speeches were given by Andrew Spink QC, head of the business department at Outer Temple Chambers, who spearheaded the delegation.
The Outer Temple visit sought to build up new contacts, reconnect with existing relationships and promote an exchange of information and ideas. Barristers and directors met with the DFSA, the British Embassy, business leaders and local law firms.
The attendees were Ali Almihdar, Andrew Allen, Andrew Spink QC, Caroline Kerswell, Christine Kings, David Russell QC, David Smith, Farhaz Khan, John McKendrick, Jonathan Moffat, Keith Bryant QC, Michael Bowes QC, Nick Hill, Richard Lissack QC, Robert Rhodes QC, Saaman Pourghadiri, Samantha Cooper and Steve Graham.
