No5 Chambers’ Simon Hunka represents officer jailed for misconduct in public office

Simon Hunka from No5 Chambers has represented an officer jailed for misconduct in public office. PC Ian Langford, a police officer who served in Ledbury, Worcestershire, has been jailed for 18 months.

Gloucester Crown Court heard that Langford started relationships with two women after being called to incidents at their homes and visited them during shifts. Langford admitted the two charges of misconduct in public office.

Judge Jamie Tabor QC said his actions brought the service into disrepute.

Hunka, representing Langford, said: ‘He is someone who has shown deep remorse and shame for his behaviour; he doesn’t try to excuse it.’
