Mourant Ozannes advises APG on Chinese warehouse firm investment

Mourant Ozannes has advised APG on its purchase of a 20 per cent stake in Chinese warehouse firm e-Shan.

The investment, worth up to $650m (£387m), will establish a new joint venture to develop and own institutional-grade logistics real-estate assets across China to capitalise on the increased demand for warehouse storage as a result of the booming e-commerce industry in China.

This investment in the venture, according to APG, represents one of the largest commitments to the Chinese logistics real-estate sector.

Mourant Ozannes acted as Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands counsel from the firm’s Hong Kong office, led by partner Alex Last and assisted by senior lawyer Bronwyn King. Baker & McKenzie was lead counsel for APG on the matter.
