Three of the six finalists for the best legal department in the 2014 MJ Local Govermment Awards are Iken user teams, with another featuring in a shared services consortium that has also been shortlisted.
The award recognises and rewards ‘council legal departments that demonstrate exceptional value for money for their councils by delivering a great contribution, which makes a long-lasting and real difference to people, the local economy, the law and/or the legal profession’.
Long-time Iken users Barking & Dagenham and Thurrock Shared Services’ legal team are joined in the final by two teams that implemented Iken just last year: Enfield and North Norfolk District Council. A fourth finalist, the WYLAW consortium from the north of England, includes the Iken-using team from Calderdale.
Iken supplies case management software to local government legal teams in the UK, supporting more than 50 per cent of those using such systems.
