Amanda Howlett is a partner in the firm’s EU and competition law practice, having joined the firm in February 2014 from Pannone LLP where she was head of competition.
She has extensive experience advising on competition law compliance, merger control, price fixing and cartels, complaints to the competition authorities, co-operation agreements and joint ventures and competition law considerations arising from clients’ day-to-day commercial arrangements. She also has considerable experience in negotiating and drafting commercial agreements.
She acted for Tradebe Healthcare Holdings Ltd in relation to the merger control inquiry by the Office of Fair Trading and then the Competition Commission on the completed healthcare risk waste joint venture between Tradebe Environmental Services Ltd and Sita (UK) Ltd which in February 2014 was provisionally cleared by the Competition Commission.
She advised a client in respect of the European Commission cartel investigation and infringement decision relating to copper fittings including defending follow on damages claims.
Howlett also works with businesses to undertake competition law risk assessments so as to develop and implement effective compliance policies and to give practical and client specific competition training.
Her experience extends across a broad range of industries including waste, fuel, copper fittings, magnesium products and services, printing, chemicals, electronics and manufacturing, information services, management consultancy and transport.
Howlett is recognised in Chambers & Partners UK directory 2012 and Legal 500.
