On 3 June 2014, a delegation of the Brazilian Bar Association, led by Luiz Tarcisio Teixeira Ferreira, head of the association’s department of co-ordination for the BRICs, the US and Italy, visited the head office of Dacheng.
The delegation was accompanied by director-general Gu Zhaomin and deputy director Pan Xinyan of the Overseas Liaison Department of the China Law Society and was received by Ma Jiangtao, senior partner and deputy head of Dacheng’s standing committee, and senior partner Zhu Yongrui.
The Brazilian Bar Association is a national bar association. Since 2008 when the China Law Society established relations with the Brazilian Bar Association, the two sides maintain regular communications and co-operation with each other.
According to the delegation, the most promising areas to invest in Brazil include infrastructure, ports, railways, airports, highways and energy, with infrastructure being the most starved for foreign fund.
Jiangtao gave a brief introduction to Dacheng and expressed willingness to exchange information on a long-term, regular and effective basis.
The Brazilian delegation extended an invitation to Dacheng for the BRICS Law Forum and the Latin America Law Forum to be held in Brazil in the second half of this year.
