Ron Bornstein is a partner in Pillsbury’s corporate and securities practice and is located in the London office. His primary areas of practice include corporate, securities, financial, banking and international law.
Bornstein has worked on hundreds of matters in these areas, including foreign investments in the US and investments by Americans abroad; mergers, acquisitions and divestitures; private equity funds and investments; numerous financing transactions; import-export, distribution and sales arrangements; joint ventures and project financings; and counselling boards of directors and senior executives on sensitive matters.
He has worked on transactions in a wide variety of industries, including apparel, banking, cement, energy, investment management, food and wine, metals and mining, technology, telecommunications and transportation. Over the course of his career, he has represented most of the world’s major financial institutions.
Bornstein’s practice has included transactions in Canada, Australia and more than 30 countries in Europe, Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. He practised in Paris for several years and was admitted as a conseil juridique in France. He has represented numerous French and Belgian companies in the US and is proficient in the French language.
Bornstein is a former chair of the International Law Section of the California Bar, and was a Ford Fellow at the Academy of International Law at The Hague and a Visiting Fulbright Professor at the University of Dakar. He has served as guest lecturer on international legal and financial topics for a number of law schools, professional organisations, foreign affairs groups and the US Department of Commerce.
