DLA Piper has appointed Joseph Guarino as a partner in the firm’s employment and litigation practice in Florham Park, New Jersey.
Guarino is both a litigator and employment counsellor. He is trial counsel on a wide array of employment matters, including wage and hour class actions, ERISA, ADA and a variety of employment discrimination, whistleblowing and retaliation cases. He also represents management in matters before the National Labor Relations Board and the New Jersey Department of Labor.
In addition, Guarino has an extensive commercial litigation practice, representing companies in securities fraud cases, false advertising claims, shareholder disputes, non-compete matters, broker dealer litigation, provider claims, third-party administrator suits and hospital/network disputes.
Guarino’s clients include a diverse group of Fortune 500 companies across a number of industries such as retail, health care, banking and finance, telecommunications, insurance, transportation, pharmaceuticals, shipping and food service.
Prior to joining DLA Piper, Guarino served as an employment litigation partner in the Newark office of Epstein Becker Green, where he spent the majority of his legal career. He is a graduate, cum laude, of Seton Hall University School of Law, and clerked for Justice Marie Garibaldi on the New Jersey Supreme Court.
