What would you ask judges from The Lawyer Awards, in association with Travelers, if you had the chance? At the first Best in Class networking and best practice event, this year’s shortlisted teams and in-house counsel were given the chance to get a glimpse into the judging room.
Just Eat general counsel and commercial projects director Jeffrey Eneberi, Lloyds Banking Group corporate counsel Lesley Wan and England Rugby 2015 general counsel Tim Jones, three of The Lawyer Awards judges provided insight into what makes a winning entry.
Shearman & Sterling partner Apostolos Gkoutzinis and Macfarlanes partner Graham Gibb, winners in 2014’s The Lawyer Awards in association with Travelers, were interviewed about their submissions and how winning the awards has impacted their work.
Attendees also networked with previous winning in-house and private practice lawyers, sharing advice, trends and best practice.
In roundtable sessions, lawyers talked about some of the major challenges that they face in recruitment, talent retention, budgets and business relationships.
