DLA Piper has represented CGI Windows & Doors Holdings, a portfolio company of Cortec Group Fund IV and a manufacturer of hurricane-impact-resistant windows and doors, in the sale of its business to PGT, a manufacturer and supplier of residential impact-resistant windows and doors.
The transaction is expected to close in September 2014, subject to customary closing conditions.
The firm said that the acquisition will combine two successful companies committed to serving the impact-resistant window and door industry. Under the terms of the deal, CGI will become a wholly owned subsidiary of PGT and will continue to operate and manufacture products in Miami, Florida. CGI also will remain a separate and distinct brand in the marketplace.
The DLA Piper team representing CGI was led by Gregory Grossman (Chicago) and also included Christopher Giordano, Gregory Ruback, Paolo Morante, Erin D’Angelo, Michael Greenberg, Jon Venick, Lola Ladeinde Temple and Alexandra Mackey (New York), Shari Helft Lennon (Chicago), William Bartow (Philadelphia), Julia Kovacs (Washington DC), Gina Zawitoski (Baltimore) and Stacy Paz and Ena Patel (Silicon Valley).
