King & Wood Mallesons has advised a syndicate of banks providing project financing for the first stage of the development of the 113MW Boco Rock wind farm in New South Wales.
The project was developed by Continental Wind Partners, with GE and Downer providing the construction contract.
The transaction was complicated by the acquisition of the wind farm by Thailand’s independent power producer, Electricity Generating Company (EGCO), simultaneously with financial close.
The syndicate of banks comprised ANZ, the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Westpac and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China.
The King & Wood Mallesons team was led by newly appointed partner Claire Rogers, who was supported by construction partner Katherine Vines and solicitors Nicola O’Farrell and Colin Wong.
