Kendrick, Dominic QC

Dominic Kendrick QC practises in commercial law and has done so since 1981 from 7KBW.

Dominic Kendrick

He is recommended as counsel in the legal directories in the categories of international arbitration; energy; commodities; insurance and reinsurance; shipping, and general commercial. Kendrick also acts in cases concerning the duties of brokers, solicitors and accountants in commercial life.

He tries to identify the key points in a case from its outset, to take a strategic view, to put the client’s case lucidly in court, and to be approachable to the rest of the team from the senior junior barrister right down to the trainee solicitor.

Kendrick’s practice naturally reflects turbulence and upheaval in the commercial markets. As a snapshot, in 2012 he is involved in: disputes between Russian oligarchs; commodity trading affected by large-scale fraud; major losses by banks; the consequences of the Madoff fraud; disputes over attempts to terminate long-term contracts made prior to the crash in 2008; world-wide freezing orders involving piercing the corporate veil; the seizure and detainment of assets by alleged politically motivated court in Asia; and the proper interpretation of an oil tanker charterparty, which requires approval by oil majors.
