HTC succeeds in patent battle regarding Gemalto’s smart card patents - .PDF file.
Recently promoted High Court patents judge Mr Justice Birss has handed down his decision in the joined telecommunications patent cases of HTC Corporation v Gemalto SA and HTC Corporation v Gemalto NV  EWHC 1876 (Pat).
HTC sought revocation of EP (UK) 0 932 865 for ‘using a high-level programming language with a microcontroller’ and EP (UK) 0 829 062 for a smart card reader.
