The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has issued guidance urging app developers towards ‘privacy by design’ and highlighting the need for transparent privacy policies and flexible settings.
Mobile devices that collect personal data, particularly through apps, create a number of privacy risks, not least because they are portable, always on, have small screens that can make communication of legal niceties difficult and they are geared towards a convenient user experience.
The ICO has issued guidance for app developers on privacy in mobile apps.
