Kitty St Aubyn has a broad practice across chambers’ areas of expertise. She appears on behalf of the defence and the Crown in all criminal courts, is instructed in serious crime and fraud and has dealt with sensitive issues relating to mental ill health and fitness to plead.

She is currently instructed for the defence in Operation Weeting (phone hacking) at the Old Bailey. 

St Aubyn is experienced in confiscation and forfeiture proceedings both as a lead junior and alone. She is currently instructed as junior to Trevor Burke QC for the defence in high-value confiscation proceedings and for the Crown as junior to Simon Farrell QC in ongoing restraint order proceedings. She has also recently advised the Office of Fair Trading in confiscation proceedings.

St Aubyn regularly appears for the defence person in extradition proceedings in the Magistrates’ Court and in the Administrative Court on appeal.

She regularly advises and acts on behalf of operators of licensed premises, local authorities and interested parties in Licensing Act 2003 proceedings. She has recently acted for a leading independent bookshop in applications to expand music entertainment and advice on moving premises and a restaurant franchise selling ‘vapour shisha’ on potential liability under the Health Act 2006. 

St Aubyn has experience in a range of regulatory matters including fire safety prosecutions, health and safety and rail safety, while she has also advised on criminal liability in UK overseas territories including the Turks and Caicos Islands and the Cayman Islands.
