Melanie Chell, head of Shoosmiths’ asset finance team, has been included in this year’s Motor Finance Power 50, which lists the 50 most influential and powerful people in UK car finance.
Ranked at 25, she is included in a list that features chancellor of the exchequer George Osborne and governor of the Bank of England Mark Carney. Financial Conduct Authority chief executive Martin Wheatley tops the list.
Motor Finance is the journal of the car finance industry and its second annual Power 50 was voted for by the magazine and website readership and adjudicated by Motor Finance staff.
Chell, who has more than 13 years’ experience in the finance industry, is the only law firm representative to make the list. She heads Shoosmiths’ contentious asset finance team and has particular expertise in fraud and injunctive relief in relation to motor vehicles and other high-value assets.
