KWM appoints trademark specialist Bill Ladas to intellectual property practice

King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has appointed special counsel Bill Ladas to its intellectual property practice. Ladas, a trademark specialist, joins the firm’s Melbourne office from Corrs Chambers Westgarth.

Ladas is an expert in trademark and designs law, establishing successful practices in both Australia and the UK. Prior to returning to Australia, he practised in the London office of SJ Berwin (now King & Wood Mallesons SJ Berwin) where he managed an international trademarks and designs prosecution practice.

He has experience in contested trademark matters, with an impressive track record before IP Australia and the intellectual property offices of New Zealand and the UK and the European Office of Harmonization for the Internal Market.

Ladas also specialises in new product launches and in developing and implementing clearance, prosecution and enforcement strategies for global and local brands.
