John Greany joined chambers after successful completion of his pupillage. He is developing a broad practice across the main areas of chambers work.
Greany regularly appears in the Crown and Magistrates courts dealing with a broad range of criminal matters, including very serious crime, both prosecuting and defending.
He has successfully defended clients in trials for GBH (fractured skull and bleed on the brain), crimes of dishonesty (including benefit fraud), public order offences and harassment. He has acted for defendants charged with more serious offences, including murder, at their first appearance, and regularly appears in the Crown Court and in Magistrates courts and has experience of prosecuting and defending.
Greany appears in extradition cases and is currently instructed in extradition proceedings involving allegations of possession and distribution of drugs in the Czech Republic. He has also acted for Transport for London in contested licensing proceedings.
