Investment management company CBRE Global Investors has promoted its deputy EMEA general counsel Anja Ijlstra to the position of general counsel for the EMEA region.
Ijlstra replaces Fabrice Rochu, who passed away in November 2013.
She will sit on the European management board for the company, which is one of the largest global investment management businesses with over $87bn of assets under management. It sponsors real estate investment programmes for institutional investors worldwide.
The global legal team is headed from Los Angeles by general counsel Pasha Zargarof.
Ijlstra joined CBRE Global Investors as Dutch general counsel in 2011, and was promoted to the role of deputy general counsel for EMEA in 2012. She previously worked for the company between 2003 and 2007, spending the rest of her career in private practice at firms including Benelux heavyweight Loyens & Loeff.
She will continue to be based in Amsterdam.
