Lexis Nexis has published the civil proceedings handbook Handbuch Zivilprozess: Erfolgreich verhandeln im streitigen Verfahre. Attorney-at-law Dr Stefan Albiez, partner at Binder Grösswang, is among the authors of the handbook.
The practical reference manual offers a quick, well-founded overview of issues that regularly arise in civil proceedings. It is intended as a useful tool for daily work in court proceedings and is structured according to the various stages of proceedings (preparatory hearing, taking of evidence and so on). It focuses on issues that are of central importance in civil proceedings practice.
The book primarily addresses attorneys-at-law and judges, but also offers law students a practice-orientated overview of first-instance proceedings. It answers questions such as: ‘which pleadings do I, as an attorney, need to submit by which point in time?’; ‘how can the party influence the length of the proceedings?’; or ‘what do I, as a judge, do if a witness refuses to give evidence?’
Albiez heads the Binder Grösswang dispute resolution team. He specialises in national and international civil proceedings pertaining to commercial disputes.
