Luxembourg firm Wildgen has elected litigation head Pierre Metzler as its first managing partner.
Metzler was elected to the role with the mandate to drive the firm’s growth and lead its future strategic direction.
The seven Wildgen partners have up to now made strategic decisions as a group. Metzler said the business was now growing to the extent that it was felt decision-making could be speeded up by having a managing partner to oversee the process.
“The change was mainly justified by the fact that we have a growing business,” Metzler told The Lawyer. “We’re still very optimistic for the next few years. We came to the conclusion that we couldn’t afford to continue in the way we were structured in the past.”
Metzler will continue to fee earn and will also continue to lead the firm’s commercial and litigation department.
Wildgen was founded in 1923 and is a full-service firm.
