The US firm reporting season is now underway, with a smattering of results in so far indicating an upward turn.

Today McDermott Will & Emery has posted a 2.2 per cent rise to $899.8m despite the firm’s total number of lawyers worldwide falling from 1,021 to 997. Yesterday Dechert confirmed that its global gross revenue had grown by 8 per cent in 2014 from $777.2m to $839.4m while Goodwin Procter’s 2014 year-end results showed a 4.4 per cent growth in revenue to $785.5m.

The biggest guns in the US market have yet to report their global results, while any indication of how the leading firms performed in the UK will have to wait until the publication of The Lawyer’s annual Top 30 International Firms in London report in April.
