Slightly more than a year ago, the government’s revamped PFI model — PF2 — was born. In this article, we revisit the changes introduced by PF2 and look at what progress has been made over the past year.
Against a backdrop of political and public criticism, a PFI call for evidence in late 2011 sought industry-wide views on the future of PFI. Responses were received from a range of stakeholders — contractors, service providers, trade unions, public sector bodies, lawyers and accountants. Some MPs even found the time to contribute.
After extensive industry engagement, PF2 was heralded as the answer to all our prayers and there was relief all around that we finally had some guidance as to which direction a new programme was heading…
