National law firm Shoosmiths has been appointed to the Government Procurement Service’s (GPS’s) Legal Services framework agreement.
The firm is one of only seven firms appointed to the panel that can handle work for public sector bodies concerning property, planning and estate matters, where the legal spend is £100,000-plus.
Shoosmiths’ public sector team has acted for public authorities, developers and financiers for many years, building up a considerable knowledge of the legal structures and associated requirements.
The firm advised the government-funded South East England Development Agency for 12 years and helped put together the legal structures required for delivery of the London 2012 Olympic Games Marina in Portland, near Weymouth.
To win its GPS legal panel place, Shoosmiths completed a two-stage process that included a pre-qualification questionnaire and invitation to tender.
