Rigby, Jonathan

Jonathan Rigby was appointed managing partner of Mourant Ozannes in June 2010. He advises leading financial institutions, corporates and intermediaries on a wide range of capital markets, structured finance and investment fund transactions. Between 2003 and 2006, Rigby was the head of the firm’s London office and led the team through a period of significant growth to become one of the largest offshore practices in the City.

Rigby is an associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers. He was called to the English bar in 1995, admitted as an English solicitor in 1997 (currently non-practising) and was sworn in as a Jersey advocate in 2000. Rigby joined Mourant Ozannes in 1998 and was appointed managing partner in 2010. He is located in Jersey and specialises in banking and finance, corporate funds, insolvency and restructuring.

Rigby is a member of the Institute of Directors, the Chartered Institute of Bankers and International Bar Association.

He has been named as a leading lawyer in IFLR’s guide to the world’s leading structured finance and securitisation lawyers, Legal 500 highlights Rigby as a key banking partner, and Chambers UK describes Jonathan as ‘having mastered the law on capital markets and listings’.

Rigby spends most of his spare time with his young family. He enjoys sailing and boating and is a member of St Helier Yacht Club and the RYA. He is also a keen skier and a member of the Ski Club of Great Britain.
