Galileo Pozzoli, managing partner in the Milan office and member of the firm’s oil and gas and international arbitration groups, focuses his practice on international commercial and investment treaty arbitrations in the energy sector.
His breadth of energy experience encompasses the structuring and negotiation of cross-border energy transactions, including negotiating and drafting production sharing agreements, joint operating agreements, service contracts and contracts for the transportation and distribution of natural gas and oil.
Drawing on his energy expertise, Pozzoli has represented states and state-owned entities in arbitrations under ICC, UNCITRAL, ICSID and LCIA arbitration rules arising out, inter alia, of production sharing, joint operating agreements, concession agreements, licences and joint ventures.
He represents clients before the Italian and European Union (EU) energy regulatory authorities in connection with the issuance of licenses for the importation and sale of oil and gas. He also represents clients who operate within the energy field in matters involving mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, EU law and antitrust.
