Chris Stanton is the firm’s finance director and is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of financial control and management are aligned with the firm’s wider strategic business objectives.
This includes ensuring that the underlying financial support structures provide the business with the information required to take the decisions necessary to meet its goals and that those structures are organised as efficiently as possible.
Stanton is a chartered accountant having qualified with Deloitte & Touche in 1991. During 12 years at Deloitte’s (including two years in Washington, D.C.), he worked with numerous clients as a fee earner, including WH Smith, Procter & Gamble and Trinity Mirror. He left Deloitte’s in 2000 to become finance director of an AIM-listed media monitoring business and immediately prior to joining Shoosmiths in April 2006 was finance director of chartered surveyor Cluttons.
Stanton has a wide background in financial management-related fields including business process reviews, working capital management, due-diligence investigations and negotiations with suppliers and lenders. In addition to providing strategic advice and guidance, he has advised many businesses on various aspects of their financial management and business development.
