Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) has elected London finance partner Chris Lowe and Germany head Lothar Wegener as joint managing partners.
The pair’s appointment came a few weeks after previous managing partner Michael Greville’s sudden resignation (28 November 2013). They are set to begin their joint management role from 15 January 2014.
Lowe is currently the firm’s head of global maritime practice and former head of the Singapore office. He relocated back to London in September 2012 after an 11-year stint in the firm’s Singapore office.
Wegener is a tax partner based in the firm’s Hamburg office. He overseas the firm’s three offices in Germany. He joined WFW as a partner in April 2006 when the firm acquired Hamburg firm Wegener Bechtel Schmidt (WBS) of which he was a founding partner (16 January 2006).
The firm recently posted double-digit revenue growth for the first six months of the 2013/14 financial year with half-year revenues of £52m (26 November 2013). However, it saw a 13 per cent fall in average profit per equity partner (PEP) £388k for 2012/2013 (16 July 2013).
