Kings Chambers’ Carter defends refusal of planning permission for wind farm

Martin Carter from Kings Chambers has defended the refusal of planning permission for a six-turbine wind farm. He was instructed by Copeland BC in the matter.

The application had been refused permission contrary to the planning officer’s recommendation that it should be approved.

The appeal was one of a number that were recovered by the secretary of state during the course of summer 2013.

The secretary of state has accepted the inspector’s recommendation to dismiss the appeal, concluding that the landscape and visual effects of the proposal, on their own and in conjunction with existing wind energy development, outweighed the benefits of the proposals.
