Andy Powell, long-time member of the band ‘Wishbone Ash’, brought High Court proceedings against Martin Turner, creator of the name and a member of the band during its boom period from 1969 to 1981, seeking remedies for Turner’s use of the name ‘Martin Turner’s Wishbone Ash’ and his use of www.wishboneash.co.uk.

Powell had filed a Community trademark for ‘WISHBONE ASH’ in 1998, apparently unbeknown to Turner, and based his action on this registration and the continued goodwill in the name since the band’s split in 1981…
