Dundas & Wilson’s head of pensions is leaving the firm to join Maclay Murray & Spens to lead its UK pensions law team.
David Knox will join Maclays on 1 January as a partner and leader of its UK pensions law practice, joining partner Gary Cullen, and will split his time between London and Edinburgh.
Knox led Dundas’s pensions practice from Edinburgh for more than seven years. He joined the firm from Ward Hadaway, where he was also a partner, in 2005.
In a statement, Maclays chief executive Chris Smylie said: “David Knox brings considerable expertise and insight. As the regulatory and governance challenges of clients’ pension schemes become increasingly complex, we’re in a strong position to develop further our existing reach in this area.
“David has a proven track record in building a highly successful pensions practice, which offers an excellent fit with Maclays’ focus on profitable and sustainable growth. This clear strategic vision is enabling us to build a financially strong firm, attractive to lateral partner hires.”
