Burness Paull & Williamsons has made its first post-merger hire, adding a partner to its oil and gas team in Aberdeen.
Robin Clarkson has already joined Burness Paull & Williamsons from energy company Sterling Resources, where he was head of legal. Before that, Clarkson was a partner at legacy firm Paull & Williamsons.
In a statement, Burness Paull & Williamsons chairman Philip Rodney said: “Robin’s appointment underlines our strategy of being a leading Scottish commercial law firm, committed to having deeply resourced teams serving all the major sectors of our economy.
“The addition of Robin’s skills and experience to our exploration and production division supports our increased market share in this important sector.”
Burness and Paull & Williamsons merged on 1 December (9 October 2012), creating a £37.6m firm with 58 partners. Earlier this month, a partner on the Paull & Williamsons side of the firm left for Scottish rival Brodies (4 December 2012).
