The Lawyer Awards: what it means to win

Osborne Clarke may have scooped up the top prize at The Lawyer Awards, in association with Travelers, after it secured the Law Firm of the Year award, but other attendees had plenty to celebrate as our video of the night shows.

The event saw over 1,200 legal professionals – the biggest cross-section of the market – gather under one roof to discuss the industry’s successes over the past 12 months.

The event also recognised superb performances across private practice, in-house and the bar.

The winners beat off stiff competition to gain their accollades, and ahead of the flowing champagne and dance-floor antics, The Lawyer filmed some of the reactions of winners and thoughts from attendees on the night.

Award winners included Welsh Rugby Union Group’s Rhodri Lewis as In-house Lawyer of the Year, Tapestry Compliance as Boutique Firm of the Year, Ogier as Offshore Firm of the Year and Akin Gump as International Firm of the Year. Read the full list in this year’s Book of the Night.

Shortlisted in-house and private practice lawyers had the chance to talk to the awards judges and meet previous winners of their categories in the Best in Class event ahead of the awards ceremony.
