European moves: 8 August 2013

All the latest partner hires and other appointments within Continental European firms and offices.

Central & Eastern Europe

Romanian firm Mares Danilescu Asociatii has elected founder Simona Mares as a name partner and has changed its name to Mares Danilescu Mares. Mares practises corporate, banking and finance and infrastructure law.

Austrian firm Schoenherr has promoted Sofia office head Alexandra Doytchinova to partner. Doytchinova has managed the Bulgarian office since joining the firm in 2004.

Baker & McKenzie has hired Hogan Lovells senior associate Agnieszka Ferek as a partner in its Warsaw public-private partnership practice. Ferek joins with another two lawyers. She has advised on a range of PPP projects, including most recently a PLN 3.5bn (£717m) waste incineration plant for the city of Poznań.


Bonelli Erede Pappalardo is relocating banking and finance partner Giuseppe Sacchi Lodispoto from Milan to London in a bid to strengthen the firm’s international offering (7 August 2013). Lodispoto joins London head Andrea Carta Mantiglia in the City, following the latter’s appointment to the role last year. Bonelli has also hired the general counsel of contracting company Ansaldo, Mauro Gigante, as an of counsel in Milan. Gigante will work regularly with the London office.

Russia & CIS

Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev & Partners has hired competition lawyer Anna Numerova as a counsel in its Moscow office. Numerova joins the firm from Korelskiy Ischuk Astafiev & Partners. She has advised on a range of competition matters, both Russian and cross-border.

The Ukraine office of German firm Noerr is to split off from its parent firm to become an independent operation, known as Nobles (26 July 2013). The split took effect on 1 August and the two firms intend to work in close cooperation with each other moving forward. Noerr’s Kiev managing partner Mansur Pour Rafsendjani is relocating back to Munich, where he will head a new international trade team alongside Berlin partner Bärbel Sachs and be the local contact partner for the Ukrainian market. Local partner Alexander Weigelt will take over as Kiev head, working alongside Ukraine head of corporate Tatiana Khandazhevska and commercial head Volodymyr Yakubovskyy.
