Laurence Kaye, Shoosmiths’ new publishing and digital media specialist, is to chair an intellectual property (IP) seminar at the London Book Fair.
Kaye, who joined the law firm at the start of April, will host the seminar at 10:00 on day two — 16 April — of the three-day Earls Court event.
He is the seminar’s principal speaker, alongside Eric Huang, new business/IP acquisitions director at Penguin Children’s Group, and Neil Blair of The Blair Partnership, which represents new and established writers.
The London Book Fair is described as a global marketplace for rights negotiation and the sale and distribution of content across print, audio, TV, film and digital channels.
The seminar will look at how publishers need to take a 360º approach to intellectual property in a multi-platform, multi-format world.
