Riverview Law has launched a tech training services seat of up to six months as part of its training contract programme for the first time.
The move, which has been approved by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), is a first for the firm.
Riverview Law CEO Karl Chapman said: “We are thrilled to be able to offer a technology services training seat as part of our training contract programme. Technology is impacting every sector of the economy and legal is not immune.
“We are delighted that the SRA has adopted a flexible approach that enables us to educate future lawyers in how technology can assist them, our customers and the law generally.”
Riverview Law has awarded contracts to a total of 13 trainees in two cohorts throughout 2014 and 2015 since the training contract programme’s launch three years ago.
At the time of the programme’s launch, the apprenticeships mainly focused on law, although the firm also offered opportunities for apprentices to choose to qualify into IT and finance functions instead. Those who chose the legal branch of the business qualified as legal executives while others qualified via equivalent routes in their disciplines.
The firm has up to 10 further training contracts starting on 1 October 2018.
