Pinsent Masons has boosted its Birmingham property litigation team, scooping Denton Wilde Sapte’s joint head of property litigation Alicia Foo.
Foo, who will join the firm at the start of 2007, will lead a growth plan at Pinsents, which is expected to see property litigation lawyer numbers double in the Midlands.
Pinsents’ national head of property litigation Stuart Wortley said: “Birmingham is the smallest team and we thought we needed to give it a boost.”
Pinsents has three property litigation lawyers in Birmingham and aims to have a sixstrong team within two years. The firm already has six in Leeds and eight in London. Foo has a practice advising high-profile clients such as Barclays Bank, National Grid Wireless, English Partnerships and J Sainsbury on contentious property matters.
Nationally, Pinsents has five partners and 16 lawyers in the property litigation group and sees the practice area as ready for growth.
Real estate litigators are hot property at the moment. At the start of September, Berwin Leighton Paisner head of real estate Robert MacGregor raided his former firm Clifford Chance to hire Wendy Miller as new head of real estate litigation.
