Newcastle-under-Lyme’s Knight & Sons Solicitors has hired four associates: personal injury specialist Richard Harris, tax lawyer Robert Fearnley, commercial property lawyer Russell Coddington and matrimonial expert Cath Longshaw.

Welsh firm Leo Abse & Cohen has appointed a new associate partner as head of commercial property. Christopher Agius will manage Cardiff’s property team. Agius has six years’ experience in commercial property, with stints at Laytons in Bristol and Cardiff firms Robertsons and Edwards Geldard.

Farrer & Co has elected seven new partners, effective from 1 May, to the corporate, disputes, employment, family and heritage teams. The appointments take the firm’s partner count to 62.

David Schollenberger has joined Manches as a partner in the technology/IP team in London from Charles Russell, adding specialist knowledge in the regulation of remote gaming, gambling and betting in the UK and US. Manches has also recruited two new solicitors, Nick Pontt and Jake Marshall, to the same team.

Barlow Lyde & Gilbert has made up three partners this year: Christian Bartsch in the commercial and tech group, Andrew Howell in the professional liability and commercial litigation group and Carmel Walsh in the reinsurance and international risk team.
