Beachcroft Wansbroughs’ Leeds employment team has been appointed to shipping giant FedEx ‘s informal UK roster of legal advisers.

The win comes six months after Beachcrofts hired Hammonds partner Harmajinder Hayre for its Leeds employment team, and also six months after FedEx appointed Resham Johal as its new international legal adviser for the UK and Northern Europe. Hayre had previously handled employment work for FedEx while at Hammonds, working with the company’s previous head of legal Robert Dunk.

Johal said Beachcrofts will handle both contentious and non-contentious employment work, although day-to-day matters are handled by HR.

FedEx’s other legal work is carried out by a wide range of firms, also on an informal basis.

Hayre said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be carrying out high-profile strategic employment work for such a global corporation. The capture of this work truly reflects the strength and expertise of our national employment group.”
