Herbert Smith’s Benelux alliance partner Stibbe has hired Linklaters Brussels partner Thierry Denayer as head of tax.

Denayer will join Stibbe in April to head the eight-lawyer tax department.
Stibbe managing partner Olivier Clevenbergh said: “With this reinforcement, the tax law team will have the opportunity to expand its activities. Like all Stibbe lawyers, Thierry is a specialist through and through.”

Denayer started his career in 1980 at De Bandt van Hecke & Lagae in Brussels, becoming a partner nine years later. He has been a Linklaters partner since 2002, when the magic circle firm merged with De Bandt.

Stibbe’s tax team specialises in minimising the tax exposure of real estate projects and PPP schemes.
