Linklaters hit by Tokyo raid

Capital markets and securitisation specialist Mitsuhiro Yasuda has quit Linklaters‘ Japanese operation in favour of newly formed firm Nishimura & Asahi.

Yasuda only joined Linklaters’ Tokyo office in 2005 as part of the magic circle firm’s launch of its Tokyo capability. Before that he was a name partner at local firm Mitsui Yasuda Wani & Maeda.

Yasuda is thought of as one of Japan’s leading finance lawyers in the capital markets and securitisation arena, with experience of equity and debt securities in the domestic and international capital markets.

Nishimura completed the integration of its firm with the international operations of Asahi Law Offices on 1 July, making it the largest firm in Japan with 325 lawyers.
