No wonder Reed Smith found it too hard to pull off its merger with Chicago firm Wildman Harrold last year. The Pittsburgh-based outfit is headed by none other than legendary King of Comedy Jerry Lewis, albeit in the guise of managing partner Greg Jordan. Lewis, readers will recall, struck box office gold in his double act with Dean ‘Dino’ Martin. But the wild personalities of the two legends proved too much for the pairing to bear and they split in 1956. Similarly, “differences in culture” proved too big a hurdle for the Reed Smith-Wildman deal. Shame: the name at least would’ve been a good fit.
