Wragge & Co is set to bid farewell to one of its most senior partners who is retiring from the firm to build on his prolific non-executive career.
Bob Gilbert is retiring from the Birmingham-based firm in April where he has practised since 1969, though it is understood that he will remain as a consultant.
During his many years at the Wragges, corporate specialist Gilbert was a founding member of the firm’s first management committee and served as deputy senior partner from 1993 until 1999. Gilbert was also chairman of Wragges’ automotive group.
Outside of Wragges, Gilbert has been on the boards of a number of public companies including Magneti Marelli, York Trailer, Plumb Holdings and Everest Foods.
He is currently the chairman of Victoria plc, the ADAC Paintbox Group and Marketing Birmingham.
