Morley triumphant in A&O managing partner election

Banking star to take the helm of magic circle firm next May

Allen & Overy global banking head David Morley has won the election to be the magic circle firm’s new managing partner.

He beat projects partner Anne Baldock and Belgium managing partner Wim Dejonghe to the post after current managing partner John Rink stepped down a year early.

The result, which was announced internally this afternoon, will mean that A&O will have to find a successor to Morley as global head of banking.
