Australian insurance giant AMP has shaken up its in-house legal team, appointing top Allens Arthur Robinson (AAR) partner David Cohen to the position of general counsel

AMP has appointed Prue Milne, currently acting general counsel, to the position of company secretary.

Cohen has headed AAR's fund management, real estate and superannuation group for more than three years and has been a partner with the firm since 1991.

AAR managing partner Tom Poulton said the move was a loss to the firm, rating Cohen as one of the top corporate lawyers in the region. “AAR's loss is AMP's gain,” he said. The firm is deciding on a new appointment to fill Cohen's role.
