Heller Ehrman’s chair of the Beijing office, Joseph Cha, has resigned together with other members of the office.
Nick Seddon, regional managing shareholder of the firm’s Asia practice, confirmed that Cha and others had left, but declined to confirm the number of other lawyers to have resigned or comment on the circumstances of the resignations.
Cha’s departure from the US firm follows closely behind that of Hal Milstein, who last week to join West Coast rival Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton (The Lawyer 2 September), while San Diego IP specialist John Benassi defected to Cooley Godward Kronish in June (TheLawyer.com, 19 June).
Cha was unavailable for comment.
